Desi Stephens was raised in the (mostly) great state of Texas where she was fortunate to meet and work with several diverse individuals that helped shape the eclectic artist that she is today.

She attended Manhattan School of Music in New York City where she obtained her Bachelors degree (BM) studying Musical Theatre. While there she was fortunate enough to train under and be mentored by an array of talent and wisdom including, Luis Perez, David Loud, Randy Graff, Liza Genero, Mimi Quillin, Boyd Gaines, and many more. While in New York City, Desi had the opportunity to work on the hit HBO series THE DEUCE which starred Maggie Gyllenhaal and James Franco, and the USA network series MR. ROBOT which starred Christian Slater, and Rami Malek.

During her time in NYC, she had the opportunity to stage manage for iTheatrics and workshopped several new broadway jr titles. Desi began studying directing under Elmore James which reignited her previous passion for artistry behind the scenes. In 2019, Desi had the opportunity to Assistant Direct under the amazing Sammi Cannold a new work titled RADIOACTIVE about the life of Marie Curie.

She is passionate about live theatre and forming connections between artists and the audience. But more than that Desi loves to see how the arts can inspire.
